Dr. Joanne Borg-Stein was named Wellesley College’s Team Physician, in August 2004. She currently practices as Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, she is the Medical Director of Spaulding Newton-Wellesley Rehabilitation Center, and she is the Director of the NWH Spine Center.
Dr. Borg-Stein is a graduate of Tufts University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and did her residency training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
She serves as an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School, and as a lecturer of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts University School of Medicine. Joanne has spoken on numerous topics including physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal injuries, pain management, and sports medicine acupuncture. She has also presented on many topics and issues related to women’s health, and recently published a chapter on “Special Considerations in Competitive Female Athletes” for a sports medicine textbook. Dr. Borg-Stein has also been active in the Jewish Community by volunteering her services at the Maccabi games.
