2009 Recap: Wellesley Cross Country had a spectacular 2009 campaign.  The Blue took home runner-up honors at the NEWMAC Championship and notched a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals.  In addition to NEWMAC All-Conference finishes from first-years Randelle Boots (9th place) and Claire Cummings (12th place), Head Coach John Babington was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year, and the team was honored with the conference sportsmanship award.  Boots earned All-New England honors with a 19th-place finish at the regional race, while also becoming the first Wellesley rookie to qualify for the NCAA Championship. At the National Championships, Boots placed 82nd out of 280 runners and was the ninth first-year to cross the finish line.  Another season highlight for the Blue was a first place finish at the Seven Sisters Championship, with Boots, Cummings, Christina Lucas ‘13, Camille Basurto ‘13 and Clare Egan’10 named to the All-Seven Sisters team.
