Wellesley Cross Country Takes 15th at NCAA New England Regional
Results
Waterford, CT -- The Wellesley College cross country team ended the 2007 season with a solid 15th-place finish at the NCAA New England Regional. Each of Wellesley's seven runners posted either a season- or career-best time in the 6K race.
Finishing in front for Wellesley was senior Kerry Shanley (Marshfield, MA) who beat a two-year old personal best with a time of 23:17.5
Junior Jessica Weng (Paramus, NJ) and sophomore Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, ME) were the Blue's next finishers each running personal best times. Weng finished in a time of 23:30.2 while Egan ran 23:35.8. Also finishing in the top 100 was sophomore Maura Tucker (Albany, NY) who ran a 23:40.7 in her first ever collegiate 6K event.
Other finishers for Wellesley were Katrina Utz (Middletown, RI), Amy Damon (Livermore, ME) and
Katie Gosling (Palo Alto, CA). Utz improved her season's best 6K time to 24:08.1, Damon took nearly a minute off of her previous persional best by finishing in a time of 24:20.8 while Gosling ran her first completed 6K in a time of 24:29.6.
The Wellesley runners finished the 2007 season with a 123-47 (72%) win/loss record.
