Wellesley College Cross Country Wins Pop Crowell Invitational
Wenham, Mass. – The Wellesley College cross country team racked up eight top-twenty finishes en route to a first place finish at Gordon College's Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday.
Senior co-captain Kerry Shanley (Marshfield, Mass.) was the first finisher for the Blue, taking fourth place out of 229 runners in a time of 19:01.
Madeline Harms (Topeka, KS) and Jessica Weng (Paramus, N.J.) finished right behind Shanley, each recording a time of 19:13 on the 3.05 mile course. Rounding out the top ten was sophomore Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, ME) who finished ninth in 19:20.
Wellesley finished the 22-team race with 35 team points. The Blue bested their next closest competitor, Roger Williams, by 47 points.
The Blue will next compete at the New England Championships on October 6th in Franklin Park.
