Wellesley Cross Country Takes Fourth at Tufts Invitational
Grafton, Mass. – The Wellesley College cross country team took fourth place at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational ran at the Farm Course in Grafton, MA. For the Blue, the race was highlighed by a 13th place finish from Jessica Weng (Paramus, NJ).
Weng ran the course in a time of 24:16.21, shattering her previous record of 25:29 set on September 24, 2005.
Also scoring for Wellesley were Madeline Harms (Topeka, KS), Katrina Utz (Middletown, RI), Hannah Sholder (Pittsburgh, PA) and Amy Damon (Livermore, ME).
Harms took 19th, finishing in 24:36.22 while Utz finished 21st in a time of 25:01.04. Sholder's time of 25:10 bested her personal record by three seconds and put her at 24th place. Rounding out the top finishers for Wellesley, Damon took 26th in a time of 25:10.62.
Next up for Blue cross country, Wellesley will travel to the Pop Crowell Invitational held at Gordon College on Saturday beginning at 10:45AM.
