Wellesley College Cross Country Takes Fourth at Smith Invitational

Results

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. –  The Wellesley College cross country team posted a fourth-place finish at the Smith Invitational on Saturday.  The Blue collected 119 points to finish behind Springfield, who took first, Smith and Westfield State.

Amy Damon (Livermore, Maine) was the top finisher for the Blue in the 5k event, taking 12th place in a time of 21:08.05.  Ashley Muller (Downers Grove, IL) took 16th place overall in 21:21.68 while Katie Watson (Olympia, WA) finished 24th in 21:47.18.   Rounding out the scoring for the Blue, first year Mia Howard (Bloomington, MN), running in her first ever cross country race, was Wellesley's 4th finisher (35th), while Liz Hubertz (Fort Wayne, IN) took 36th place.

Against NEWMAC competition, Wellesley finished behind Springfield (1st) and Smith (2nd), and ahead of Coast Guard (5th), Mt. Holyoke (6th) and Clark (8th).

The Blue are back in action next Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
