Wellesley's Randelle Boots Finishes 82nd at NCAA Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio. –  Wellesley College first-year Randelle Boots (Seekonk, MA) raced to an 82nd-place finish at the Randelle BootsNCAA National Championships, held on Saturday at Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, Ohio.

Boots, who was the first Wellesley first-year to qualifiy for the event, capped a stellar rookie season at the Championship, competing in a field of the top 280 runners across Division III in the 6,000 kilometer race.  She finishes her season with All-Region, NEWMAC All-Conference and All-Seven Sisters honors. 

St. Lawrence’s Wendy Pavlus took home the individual title at the event, with a winning time of 21:28, setting a new course record. Wisconsin Eau Claire won the women’s team championship, its first ever. The Blugolds accomplished the team title with having little spacing among runners, since its highest runner, Alyssa Sybilrud finished 21st while their fifth-scorer, Jenna Smith finished 72nd.

The NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship was hosted Baldwin-Wallace College.
