Wellesley Fencer Ashley Paquin Named NFC All-Star

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) recently named Wellesley junior Ashley Paquin (Cumberland, RI) to its All-Conference Team. This was her first nomination.Ashley Paquin

Competing in epee, Paquin helped the Wellesley Blue nab 5th place overall by taking home gold from the New England Championship. She also picked up 5 wins in the first two rounds at the NCAA Northeast Regionals to finish 28th overall.

Paquin finished the NFC season with a record of 30-6. Other Wellesley fencers with excellent conference records included Hannah Braaten (Concord, MA), with a 29-7 record in foil, and Anne Benjamin (Fairfield, CT), with an 18-6 record in epee.

Other teams in the Northeast Fencing Conference include Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, the University of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of New Hampshire, Smith College, and Tufts University.
