2009-10 Recap: Wellesley Tennis finished its 2009-10 campaign with a 12-12 overall record. The Blue fell to Wheaton in a heartbreaking 5-4 loss in the NEWMAC Championship game. Despite the second place finish, Wellesley landed four players on the NEWMAC All-Conference team with sophomore Marie Wantanabe named Player of the Year and a first team All-Conference selection in singles and doubles. Jacqueline Shen ‘12, Nathalie Herman ‘11, and Meghan Stubblebine ‘10 each received first-team All-Conference selections in singles. Watanabe and Stubblebine also earned first-team All-Conference in doubles. The spring was highlighted by two regionally ranked players, as Watanabe and Shen combined for a number six ranking in doubles, and Watanabe ranked 10th in singles.
