Wellesley College Names Ferrett as Director of Sports Information and Communications
WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College is pleased to announce the hiring of Lauren Ferret as the Director of Sports Information and Communications. Ferrett is a magna cum laude graduate of Ithaca College, with a degree in sports information and communication, and will complete a master's degree in instructional technology at Bloomsburg University this May.
Ferrett, who specializes in the application of cutting-edge information technologies to sports media, has taught flash animation, web design, and java script at MIT's summer camps. She has also worked for two minor league baseball teams, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and the Brockton Rox, developing video board images and coordinating video board use during games.
Ferrett has employed her talents in collegiate settings as well, having worked as an undergraduate in the department of Sports Management and Media at Ithaca College and then as the Sports Information/Athletics Marketing Assistant in the department of Sports Information at Bloomsburg. While at Bloomsburg, Ferrett served as the primary contact for multiple NCAA Division I and II sports teams and was also responsible for the design and daily maintenance of the College’s sports information website.
Ferrett's skills and experience will be invaluable as Wellesley's athletics department moves forward. "We are thrilled to have Lauren join our team," said Bridget Belgiovine, Director of Athletics for the College. Belgiovine added, "She brings a multitude of talent and energy to our program that will undoubtedly serve to support and promote our student-athletes, coaches and the college community."
