RATIONALE
In the space provided below, please describe your intended plan of study abroad. Please explain why the International Study Committee should grant an exception to the College policy which disallows study abroad in multiple sites (except on pre-approved thematic programs). The explanation should offer sound academic reasons for the proposed plan of study and should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges involved in splitting the academic year between two destinations (in terms of academic, social, cultural and logistical issues).

Petitions for study in more than one destination must be accompanied by a letter of support from your faculty advisor. For students with two majors, one letter from each major advisor is required. The letter should address how your proposed plan of study relates to overall plan for the degree and how it will add value to your major, minor and/or overall degree and why the proposed two-destination plan is a better option than a single destination plan would be. The letter should be sent by e-mail to the Director of International Study (jthomass@wellesley.edu).
