Graduate Receives Oprah Winfrey Award for Volunteerism to Provide
Financial Counseling to the Poor June 8, 1999 -- Recent Wellesley College graduate
Eva-Dina Delgado is the 1999 recipient of the Oprah Winfrey Award
for Volunteerism that provides a stipend for a summer internship
with a not-for-profit organization. A 1999 graduate who majored in
international relations, Delgado will be working for the Consumer
Credit Counseling Service of South Texas to help low-income
individuals, especially recent high school graduates, take charge
of their finances. By empowering individuals, she hopes to have a
positive impact on the Rio Grande Valley community...
