A Conversation with Ang Lee and James Schamus

Internationally renowned film director Ang Lee visited Wellesley College on October 26, 2013. Lee, who has won two Academy Awards for Best Director (2005, Brokeback Mountain; 2012, Life of Pi) and one for Best Foreign Language Film (2000, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) in addition to numerous prestigious prizes from European and Asian film festivals, joined a conversation with James Schamus.
Schamus is the screenwriter of most of Lee's films. He is the CEO of Focus Features, a major independent film company. He is also a well-known film scholar, having taught at Columbia University for more than twenty years.
The conversation was moderated by Mingwei Song, assistant professor of Chinese, who has taught Lee's films in various classes.
