WELLESLEY, Mass. - The Davis Museum and Cultural Center at Wellesley College recently earned top billing for "Museum--Regional Favorites" in the Community Newspaper Company's Readers' Choice Awards 2002. The campus itself earned silver for "Place to Take Visitors--Regional Favorite," just behind Boston's Arnold Arboretum.

Two other parts of the college received top rankings within the Town of Wellesley: Wellesley College Theatre was the top choice for "Place to See Theatre," and Neohoiden Golf Club was the first choice for a local golf course.

Although not a scientific research poll, the annual Readers' Choice survey is, according to the newspaper, an opportunity for readers "to give a vote of thanks and congratulations to some of the people and establishments who bring outstanding service and value to their lives." Survey results can be found on the web at http://www.townonline.com/choices/.

The Davis Museum and Cultural Center and its programs are open to the public free of charge. Its exhibitions and programs serve both the campus community and the public and are known for their innovations and fresh approach to art. The Museum is open every day except Monday. Free parking is available in the Service Lot west of the Museum. Information on hours, exhibitions, and directions are available at 781-283-2051 or on the web at http://new.wellesley.edu/DavisMuseum/davismenu.html.

Information about upcoming productions by Wellesley College Theatre can be found at http://new.wellesley.edu/Theatre/index.html or by calling the box office at (781)-283-2000.

Wellesley College owns and maintains the Nehoiden Golf Course, a nine-hole course located on Washington Street. The oldest private nine-hole course in the country, Nehoiden is noted for its beauty and serenity and for a course that challenges good players and can be enjoyed by average players as well. Open from April through November, the course is available to Wellesley College students, faculty, and staff, and a limited number of Wellesley residents.
