" The Betrayal of Srebrenica: A Commemoration"

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- "The Betrayal of Srebrenica: A Commemoration" is an exhibit of photographs by New York City human rights photographer Paula Allen. It will be on display in the Jewett Arts Center from Feb. 13-March 10. Organized by historian Lisa DiCaprio and acclaimed photographer Paula Allen, the exhibit commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the massacre in Bosnia. It is devoted to the political background of the massacre, human rights issues and the victims and survivors.

An opening reception will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 4 pm in Jewett Arts Center, with a presentation by DiCaprio at 5:30 pm in Jewett 372. Lectures and films related to the exhibit will be offered during the exhibit.

DiCaprio is a visiting professor in affiliation with Washington and Lee University.

This exhibit was made possible with funds and support provided by Wellesley College, Washington and Lee University, Antioch College, Hofstra University, a Puffin Foundation 2005 visual arts grant and an American Historical Association Coordinating Council for Women in History (CCWH) 2002 Catherine Prelinger Award.
