Welcome to Wellesley, members of the Class of 2018, new Transfer Students and
Davis Scholars!
Inspired by our Orientation theme -- Free to Explore -- we invite you to listen to four distinguished Wellesley faculty members as they read from books they have recently read and enjoyed. Choose at least one and explore that book during before you arrive. You'll find information below about locating the books in your public library, in paperback, or in an e-reader version. Whatever format you choose, your time reading one of these books will be well-spent!
During the month of September, all new students will be invited to a series of Book Group discussions with the four faculty members. During these discussions, the Professors will help you understand more about the books we've read, and will answer your questions about reading, learning, and exploring the Wellesley Curriculum.
You may also want to chat about the books with other students during the summer. We've set up some on-line discussion forums for you to do just that: The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis, The Greater Journey, Predictably Irrational, Einstein's Dreams. Happy reading!
