Wellesley Crew Rows at ECAC Invitational

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Wellesley College crew team closed out the season at the ECAC Championships in Camden, NJ over the weekend. Although the second half of the regatta was cancelled due to wind and rough water conditions, each of the Wellesley boats completed a race.
In first varsity action, Blue crew raced in heats on Saturday, taking third in their race. Wellesley finished in a time of 7:07.50, defeating boats from Tufts, Marietta and Colby. On Sunday, the Blue varsity eight took sixth place in the first semifinal of the morning, with a time of 7:05.57.
The Blue second varsity eight finished one race on Sunday, taking fourth place in their heat. Wellesley notched a time of 7:14.389.
Wellesley's third varsity boat took second place in their only race of the competition. The Blue finished in a time of 7:36.988 behind only Ithaca College, while defeating crews from St. Lawrence, Tufts and UNH.
In the novice eight heats, Wellesley took fifth in their race. The Blue finished in 7:56.419, defeating Vassar's novice boat.
