Wellesley Crew Falls to Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. – After a chilly Spring Break training trip to Maryland that saw its only competition reduced to a short-race scrimmage, the Blue Crew was swept by a strong Tufts squad today on the Malden River.

The closest race of the day was the 3rd Varsity Eights. Tufts worked out to almost a length lead by the 1,000 meter mark, but Wellesley reduced the lead to a half-length with 500 meters to go.  Wellesley inched ever closer, but the Jumbos held on at the end, winning by less than a half-second.

The Blue return to the water next Sunday, April 5, when they travel to Lake Quinsigamond to take on WPI at 8:00 a.m.
