Wellesley Crew Set to Compete at the Head of the Charles

WELLESLEY, Mass. –  The Wellesley College crew team will compete at the 45th annual Head of the Charles Regatta this weekend on the Charles River.  The Blue will enter two boats into the historic regatta, a varsity eight and a varsity four.

The Wellesley four will compete in the Collegiate 4+ race beginning at 4:30pm on Saturday.  The boat lineup consists of junior coxswain Hannah Woodruff (Longmeadow, MA), first-year Patty Suquilanda (Greenwich, CT), sophomore Conisha Cooper (Glen Ridge, NJ), senior Laura Weir (Narberth, PA) and first-year Tess Ruderman (Brookline, MA).

The varsity eight will race in the Collegiate 8+ event on Sunday at 1:30pm.  The lineup is senior captain and coxswain Gabriella Wakeman (Saratoga Springs, NY), sophomore Shernaz Dossabhoy (Belmont, MA), junior Holly Jones (Duxbury, MA), senior captain Hannah Dornbusch (Madison, WI), first-year Taylor Black (Harleysville, PA), first-year Caroline Dodge (Hanover, NH), senior Jackie Valentine (Louisville, KY), senior captain Kate Spelman (Scituate, MA) and junior Alex Hayes (Duxbury, MA).

Both of the Wellesley races will launch from the finish area launch site (FALS), just up river from Eliot Bridge.
