Wellesley Crew Races Strong at Malden Spirit Regatta
MALDEN, Mass. – Wellesley Crew, ranked #8 nationally, followed up a strong performance at the NEWMAC Championships last weekend with a solid outing today at the Malden River Spirit Regatta.
The Blue's V1 boat split on the day, dropping a close race to Simmons, 7:17.40 to 7:21.80, before defeating Tufts, 7:14.37 to 7:30.91. Wellesley's V2 boat was perfect on the day, out-distancing Simmons, 7:34.23 to 7:50.16, and Tufts, 7:24.00 to 7:50.09.
The Novice boat, meanwhile, rowed to a split, downing Middlebury, 7:50.96 to 8:05.21, before falling to Tufts, 7:23.47 to 7:32.02.
Blue Crew returns to the water next Saturday, May 1, for the New England Rowing Championships.
