Wellesley Falls to Brandeis, 3-0

Box Score

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Facing an unrelenting offense, Wellesley soccer fell to Brandeis University this afternoon, 3-0, in a non-conference game at Wellesley College.  The Blue drop to 3-2-2 on the season.  The win lifts the Judges to 6-2-1 on the season.

Brandeis, who kept the ball at the Blue's end of the field for much of the game, got on the board at the 31:04 mark, when Alanna Torre (Weston, Fla.) found the back of the net off a corner-kick assist from Taryn Martienello (Wilmington, Mass.).  The Judges' Kaitlin Oldfield (Raymond, N.H.) scored seven minutes later on an assist from Torre to give Brandeis a 2-0 lead into the break.  The visitors added a security goal early in the second period, when Tiffany Pacheco (Rehoboth, Mass.) scored off an assist from Melissa Gorenkoff (Woodbury, N.Y.).

Wellesley goalkeeper Katie Martore (Great Falls, Va.) was busy between the posts, facing 29 shots while tallying seven saves.  Hillary Rosenzweig (Boca Raton, Fla.) notched two saves for the Judges.

Brandeis returns to action on Saturday, October 4, when the Judges travel to the University of Rochester for a 4:00pm game.  Wellesley takes the field on Saturday as well, as they travel to Mount Holyoke for a 1:00pm game.
