Berry enters her second season at the helm of Wellesley Squash. She holds a degree in Sports Science from Brighton University in Sussex, England and is an internationally recognized player and coach.
Berry brings experience in all facets of the game to Wellesley. She holds the highest-level coaching certificates and also has top-level international playing experience. In addition, Berry has been a coach at nearly all levels of the game including leading college, professional and national squads. In the UK, Wendy Berry has coached the England U 19 and U 16 National Squads.
In her most recent position as a club professional at the Merion Cricket Club in Philadelphia PA, Berry coached both junior and adult players, leading clinics for every level of play. During that time, she served as coach of the Philadelphia Howe Cup teams, which compete in the United States National Team Tournament, and coached US Junior National Squads.
Berry’s storied squash career also includes numerous positions at summer camps. In 2005, she served as Director of the Lancaster Country Day School Summer Squash Camp.In addition, Berry has worked at the Princeton University Summer Squash Camps for over 10 years and has also held positions at the National Capitol Squash Camp in Washington, DC, Dartmouth College’s Power Squash Academy, Squash Smarts held at Drexel University, and the Williams College Squash and Beyond Camp. This summer she will serve as Director of the Squash and Tennis Camp at the Dana Hall School.
As a player, Berry won the World Doubles Championship in the Veterans division in 2002. She also won two British Open titles, once as part of a doubles team in 1983 and once again in the individual Over 35 level in 1988. Berry was also a member of the England National “B” squad for five years and also played for England in the Over 45 team that competed in the Home Internationals in Dublin in 1999.
