Eaton Wins Massachusetts State Golf Championship; Wellesley Takes Third

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wellesley first-year golfer Kim Eaton (Shepherdstown, WV) took top honors at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Championships hosted by Mount Holyoke on Friday afternoon. The win propelled Wellesley to a third place overall finish.
Eaton shot a 77, five over par, on the afternoon to earn the medalist honors. The win was the third title in her collegiate career.
Christin Scott (Houston, TX) took seventh place overall with a round of 85 while Soumya Srinagesh (Palo Alto, CA) also finished in the top ten for Wellesley, shooting an 88. Melania Matsuo (Los Gatos, CA) rounded out the Wellesley golfers with a 98.
Overall, Wellesley finished third with a team score of 348. Williams finished with a 342 to take the title, while Boston University placed second with a 343.
The Blue will be back in action tomorrow at the Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College.
