Eaton Tied For Third After Day One of NCAA Golf Championships

Waverly, Iowa – Wellesley College first-year golfer Kim Eaton (Shepherdstown, WV) sits in third place after day one of the 2008 NCAA Division III Championships.
Eaton shot a 75 in the first round of action which was played through strong winds and several rain showers. Her score places her behind only Stephanie Mingos of Rhodes College, who shot a one-under-par round of 71, and Methodist's Susan Martin who shot a two-over 75. Eaton's three-over-par ties her with Ali Murtaugh of De Pauw University.
In the team scoring, ten-time defending national champion Methodist University of Fayetteville, N.C., hold a two-stroke advantage over Southwestern University of Texas after 18 holes of play (307-309).
