Eaton Wins Second Straight Massachusetts Collegiate Invitational
Final Results
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College golfer Kim Eaton (Shepherdstown, WV) won her second straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Invitational in dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon. Tied with Amherst's Halyley Milbourn after regulation play with an eight over par 80, Eaton took medalist honors by winning a one-hole playoff.
In addition to Eaton, two other individuals from Wellesley took part in the event, held at the par-72 (5,860 yards) Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. Alexis Kelleher (Worcester, MA) tied for seventh place, shooting a 16-over, 88. Rounding out the action for the Blue, Emma Li (Vancouver, WA) shot a 120.
Amherst took the team title at the event, finishing with a team total of 342. Mount Holoyoke was right behind them with a total score of 343.
Wellesley golf is back in action tomorrow at the Jack Leaman Invitational, also hosted by Mount Holyoke.
