Eaton Closes out Play at NCAA Championships

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Wellesley College sophomore golfer Kim Eaton (Shepherdstown, WV) closed out her 2008-09 season at the 2009 NCAA Championships held at the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. on Friday.
Eaton finished the four-round tournament tied for 45th place in a field of 111 golfers. She carded rounds of 85, 83, 81, and 83 for a total of 332.
In the team portion of the event, the Methodist women's golf team extended their lead to 25 strokes on day four to win their 12th straight national championship and 22nd in program history.
The Monarchs held a 19-stroke lead going into the fourth round and finished at 1257 (321-310-310-316) for the win. Wisconsin-Stevens Point was second at 1282 (322-318-320-322) and Gustavus Adolphus was third at 1297 (322-324-326-325). Southwestern took fourth place at 1298 (327-318-330-323).
Methodist junior Susan Martin won her second straight individual title with a score of 294 (73-71-73-77) to win three strokes ahead of Stevens Point's Jessica Urban at 297 (75-74-75-73). Southwestern's Marissa Mauldin was third at 311 (81-72-79-79).
