Wellesley Golf in Second After Day One of Vassar Invitational
Day One Results
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Wellesley College golf team stands in second place on day one of the 2010 Vassar College Golf Invitational. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 5,805-yard Dutchess Golf and Country Club.
Wellesley has a day one total of 343, good for a second-place tie with Williams. Both teams are seven strokes back from Vassar who leads the field of 11 teams with a 336.
Individually, sophomore Alexis Kelleher (Worcester, MA) leads the Blue after shooting an 84 on day one. Close behind are junior Kim Eaton (Shepherdstown, WV) and first-year Cassandra Tavolarella (Vero Beach, FL) who each shot an 85. Kelleher enters day two tied for sixth place, while Eaton and Tavolarella are tied for 11th place.
Also for the Blue, first-year Michelle Cho (La Crescenta, CA) had a solid first round shooting a 90, while senior Soumya Srinagesh (Palo Alto, CA) shot a 99.
The tournament wraps up tomorrow morning beginning at 8:30am.
