Lacrosse Places Four on All-Conference Team
WELLESLEY, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) today announced its postseason awards for lacrosse, and four Blue players have earned All-Conference honors. Loretta White (Northamption, Mass.) and Haley Geller (Berkeley, Calif.) were named to the NEWMAC First Team, and Colette Whitaker (Great Falls, Va.) and Dee Garrahan (Fairfax Station, Va.) were selected for the Second Team.
White played both midfield and defense this season, led the team in draw controls (43) and ground balls (39), and forced 21 turnovers. Geller was the Blue's top scorer with 62 points, and finished the season leading the NEWMAC in caused turnovers per game (2.41), second in goals per game (3.24), and fifth in points per game (3.65). Despite a season-ending injury in April, Garrahan recorded 24 caused turnovers to finish second in the NEWMAC with 2.18 per game. Whitaker recorded 51 goals this season and finished sixth in the conference with 2.83 goals per game.
It is the second All-Conference selection for Geller, Whitaker, and White, and the first for Garrahan. The Blue advanced to the NEWMAC final before falling to Babson in the title game.
