Wellesley Lacrosse Falls to SUNY Fredonia

WELLINGTON, Fla. – The Wellesley College lacrosse dropped a 10-3 game to SUNY Fredonia at the Spring Fling Tournament in Wellington, Florida.  The loss sets Wellesley's record to 4-2 on the season, while Fredonia moves to 2-1.

Fredonia got hot early, jumping out to a quick 5-1 lead with Wellesley's lone score coming from sophomore Haley Geller (Berkeley, Calif.).

With nine seconds remaining in the half, Geller picked up her second goal of the game, off of an assist from Elizabeth Hays (Roswell, GA), which cut the Devil's lead to 5-2.

In the second half, Fredonia netted a quick goal to increase their lead to 6-2, but Wellesley's Colette Whitaker (Great Falls, Va.) scored to close the gap to 6-3 with 25 minutes to play. 

It was all Fredonia from there, as the Devils scored the next four goals of the game.  The Blue were held scoreless over the final 25 minutes of the game giving Fredonia a 10-3 win.

In goal for the Blue, Kristin Jaroncyzk () made nine saves.

Wellesley is back in action on Saturday, March 29 on the road at Mount Holyoke for a 1:00pm start.
