MANSFIELD, Conn. - Wellesley College scored the final three goals of the game in a 9-7 triumph over Eastern Connecticut State in non-conference lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon. The win lifts Wellesley to 4-6, while Eastern falls to 2-6.
The Blue forced Eastern to turn the ball over 15 times in the second half, while holding the hosts scoreless after they took a 7-6 lead with 13 minutes left.
Wellesley scored the tying and go-ahead goals 22 seconds apart, with Meagan Fuchs scoring her team’s final two goals. After senior attack Katie Bears gave Eastern its final lead, 7-6, with 12:47 left, a stifling Wellesley defense held the Warriors to just one shot while committing nine turnovers.

Also denting the scoring column for the Blue were Loretta White with two scores, and Kate Cushing, Molly Morrow and Caitlin Meeker, who each added solo goals.
