Wellesley's Alex Warren Named NEWMAC Player of the Week
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Wellesley College senior Alex Warren (Delta, BC) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Player of the Week for the period ending March 21, 2010.
Warren hit .556 (10 for 18) to lead Wellesley to a 4-2 start in the 2010 season. Week highlights included a combined 4 for 6 in a split against #14 Brandeis where she knocked in homeruns in both contests, as well as a 3 for 4 effort with a double and three RBI in game two of a split against Clark. Warren also led the Wellesley offense in an 8-3 win over Morrisville State, going 2 for 3 with two doubles.
For the week, the first baseman recorded 10 hits, including four doubles and two homeruns, while also recording five runs and nine RBI.
The Blue split in today's action, bringing their season mark to 5-3. Wellesley continues their Florida trip tomorrow at 9:30am taking on Plymouth State University.
