Wellesley Squash Drops Nailbiter to Boston College

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Wellesley College Squash team lost a nailbiter to Boston College on Friday evening by a score of 5-4. 

The Blue were strong at the bottom and the top of the ladder, picking up wins at one, seven, eight and nine.  Playing in the top flight, Ashley Stevens (East Harwich, MA) picked up a four-game win, 11-5, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, over Jen Noesen. 

At seven, Lauren Dow (Bethlehem, PA) was a 11-5, 11-4, 2-11, 11-6, winner over Caroline Cannon, while Rachel Amrhein (Kendall Park, NJ) picked up a marathon victory at eight, 5-11, 11-7, 9-11, 13-11, 13-11, over Audrey Guerrero. Emaline Surgenor (Dover, MA) wrapped up the scoring for Wellesley with an 11-9, 11-8, 6-11, 12-10 victory over Katherine Durnjak at number nine.

Wellesley is off until next weekend competing at the Howe Cup Championships at Yale University.
