Fall Events
Welcome to the Incoming First year class - Darshana
holds a special Welcome Dinner to start the year for the new and returning
members of the Hindu
community at the Wellesley campus in September each year.
Friends and Family Weekend Brunch - During the religious
services of Friends and Family weekend, Darshana holds a puja and a brunch
for visiting families
and friends in October each year.
Temple trips: Darshana members take a trip to the local Hindu temple
in Ashland, MA to join the community in pujas and other celebrations.

Spring Events
Annual Darshana Lecture: The Annual Darshana Lecture was started by in
the academic year 2003 – 2004 with the aim to bring a scholar of
great repute to discuss contemporary issues about religious life as well
as to share elements about Hinduism, an important world religion that
is well represented amongst the Wellesley community.

- The 2006 Annual Darshana Lecture was delivered by Professor Arvind Sharma,
Birks Professor of Comparative Religion from
McGill University, Canada. Prof. Sharma’s lecture was on "Hinduism
and Buddhism: Siamese Twins or Sibling Rivals?" In this lecture
Prof. Sharma shed light on the shared symbology of both Hinduism and
Buddhism and what are the similarities and differences between the two
religions.
- The 2005 Annual Darshana Lecture was delivered by Prof. Neelima Shukla
Bhatt of the Department of Religion, Wellesley College. Prof. Shukla-Bhatt
talk was on “Can a Hindu woman be an interpreter of Dharma? Gender
and Agency in Hindu sacred narratives.”
- The 2004 Annual Darshana Lecture was delivered by Prof.
Parimal Patil, Associate Professor of Religion and of Sanskrit and Indian
Studies at Harvard University who spoke "On Why It Was and Still
Is Important to Think About Isvara."
Farewell Ceremony for Seniors: A wonderful opportunity to wish the senior Darshana class all the luck and prosperity with all their endeavours after Wellesley. More information to come.
