Wellesley Crew Qualifies for NCAA National Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College crew was selected Tuesday afternoon to participate in the NCAA Division III National Rowing Championships to be held May 28-30 at Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, CA.  The Blue, represented by the 1V and 2V boats, are one of only seven teams invited to the Championships, along with two at-large boats.  (Watch the selection broadcast here.)

Wellesley finished the regular season with a solid second-place performance at the NEWMAC Regatta on April 17, followed by a medal-showing for the 2V boat at the New England Rowing Championships on May 1 and a strong outing at the ECAC Championships on May 9.

This marks the second NCAA Championship appearance in Wellesley rowing history.  The first, in 2003, resulted in a fourth-place finish for the Blue.
