4th year of coaching at Wellesley

Becca Vaill (the former Becca Bruce) enters her fourth season as the Head Field Hockey Coach for Wellesley College. During her first three years, Vaill has led the Blue to a remarkable 44-17 overall record, an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Vaill’s 2006 squad had one of the most successful seasons in the 25-year history of the Wellesley field hockey program. The Blue snagged their sixth Seven Sisters title in seven years, clinched the NEWMAC regular season title, and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship. In only the third NCAA appearance in the program’s history, Wellesley scored a decisive victory in its first round game before falling in the Round of 16.

Vaill joins the Wellesley College Athletic Department from Connecticut College, where she served as an Assistant Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach and received her Masters of Arts in Teaching.

A 2002 graduate of Colby College, Vaill brings exceptional experience and success to Wellesley as a collegiate field hockey and lacrosse student-athlete. She was a four-year starter and captain in field hockey with several academic and conference accolades, including NFHCA First Team Regional All-American and NESCAC All-Conference.
